Product information "Sylvana fibula"

Fibulas are used ever since the bronze ages to close clothing on the wearers body often referred to as "the buttons before there were buttons". They were used up to the late medieval period, until the button and buttonhole were introduced. Used as jewlery, they were often decorated rich.

Our "Sylvana" fibula is such a decoration fibula. As with all our steel and iron ware, they are made by hand. The fibula is beatifully decorated with leaves on its end. The ring is completly torqued. It was sanded down only a little to keep the rough, wrought iron, look.

All our cloaks and coats can be worn with a fibula, as long as you remove the buttons and decide to poke through the fabric with the long thorn.

Veit eating awl
The eating awl is the ancestor of the fork and can very well be used on a medieval banquet table. It may as well be used as a tool for leather crafting. The stabile awl from the "Veit" series can be used to poke through thick leather to make way for the sewing awl. Other, than with a hole puncher, the hole of an awl is not punched, but the material is ousted to the side. The hole will close around the thread and the fissure stayes tight and will not open. The big ring on the end of the hilt does not only look good, but can be used to pull the awl out of the leather. The grip and the ring are both torqued. The steel was sanded down only a little, so that the wrought iron character stays visible.Hint: It may be neccessary to sharpen the awl after using it on hard, thick upper leather.Material: steelLength: 20,5 cmWeight: app. 40 g This article is a medieval prop that is only produced in small quantities. Ulfric cleaver
The "Ulfric" cleaver was designed as a kitchen cleaver. The wide blade was designed along chinese cleavers and allows clean and fast working in the kitchen. Made from one massive piece of steel, the hatchet has a good weight to it. The torqued handle provides a safe grip and balances the cleaver very well. Be it the cutting of pork chops, chicken or simply the slicing of vegetables - this multifunctional kitchen helper will be a great assistant for any user. Just like with all our steel articles, we kept the working marks after sanding down the worst of metal flakes. This provides a rustic look to the piece and adds the distinguished "medieval" look to them. We recommend to wipe the cleaver regulary with Ballistol oil. This food proof oil will not resinify, will not turn rancid and is well suited for the caretaking of knifes and other steel items alike. Bothild water bottle
The water bottle "Bothild" is handmade from sturdy leather. It's a reliable companion for hikes, battlefields, and dusty dungeons. Inside, it features an easy-to-maintain PET inlay with a capacity of about 0,75 litres. The detachable leather carrying strap allows you to attach the "Bothild" water bottle to various carrying systems, or place it without the strap on a table. Before the first use, we recommend thoroughly rinsing the bottle with warm water. Please do not pour hot drinks into the "Bothild" water bottle, as it could damage the PET inlay.
