The tunic was not only worn by Romans in antiquity, but it was also popular throughout Europe from the early to the late Middle Ages. It was the basic clothing for men and women and was subject to constant changes through new cuts.Our tunic "Gadaric" is the base for a great variety of medieval outfits. It is slightly bell-shaped from the hip downwards and slitted at the front and back. The generously cut sleeves allow great freedom of movement, for example when fighting.As an undergarment, for example under a gambeson, it dissipates moisture from the body while staying breathable, similar to a modern undershirt.As an upper garment in combination with a belt from our range of products, it is almost an outfit on its own. When combined with a pair of trousers and a belt bag, you are ready dressed for a visit to the next medieval fair.Material: cotton canvas

Our belt shields can be painted in groups colours, insignia or heraldry to show the membership to a certain group. Made from 1,2 mm steel, we offer them in our favorite plate armour series now. Matching the "Gustav" series, this shield is not decorated, but meets the series' style with plain and undecorated beauty. It is worn on a belt by using the two loops on the top to hoist it through there. Naturally it can be worn as a tasset, when fastened on the upper thigh. This way you will have an additional plate armour piece. The belt shields, just like our arm shields, cry out to be painted, modded and to be combined with existing clothing. This is, where your creativity and immagination comes into place. Talking of creativity: We suggest to clean the shield with Acetone prior to painting it. Afterwards just sand it with a paper with 600 grid. Use some automobile colour primer as the colour-matching foundation. When the foundation is fully dried, you should sand it again and apply a second layer of colour. Now is the time, where you can paint your details, like heraldry, animals and writings with weatherproof acrylic paint. Whether you wear it underneath a dress, a bodice or a gambeson: it absorbs moisture, but will stay permeable to air. The tunic can also be worn as a costume itself on hot summer days - the ankle long shape covers the body completly but will keep the temperature mild due to its fabric. Combined with a ladies belt from our stock, it is an airy, yet robust, alternative to tighter undergarments. You can easily use this tunic as a nightgown on events - there is little worse getting out of bed at night when the plot asks for it. It also looks great on the way to the lavatory.
