Even the best plate armour is useless if the wearer can not move in it. Oftentimes you have to find a compromise between padding and freedom of movement. The late medieval "Tudor" jerkin was specifically designed to be worn underneath a steel torso armour. In this way, "Tudor" protects the wearer from pressure marks and the impact of an opponent's blows without limiting the mobility. The arms are not padded, but have a double layer of thick canvas fabric. This increases mobility while at the same time preventing the arm guards worn on top from chafing the skin. Additional holes allow the fastening of light armour parts, such as the armshield "Wilhelm" with strings. Ribbons with fixed tips are used to lace this jerkin. Naturally, this gambeson can be worn separately, without any kind of armour on top. The additional holes allow various possibilities to personalize this gambeson to the wearer's needs and demands.

Canvas is what we call a robust cotton fabric of durable quality that is woven in the "canvas" weaving pattern, similar to the canvas used in art or sailing. The material and the special weaving pattern make the fabric very resilient and tear-resistant. The front and back sides are identical, so it is not important how exactly you use the fabric. This fabric is an allrounder that feels nice to the touch. Creative sewing and craft enthusiasts will be able to make almost any given part of their outfit themselves using our cotton canvas. It can be used wherever durable cotton quality is needed. Wool is an isolating and temperature regulating fabric. It can absorb moisture without being wet to the touch and still isolate warmth on the inside. The soft surface is dirt- and water-repellent. Outer layers, like our "Ursula" bodice, benefit from this wonderful trait. Worn on top of an undergarment it warms on cool days and protects from light rain. Wear it open, as an open vest or close it all the way with the lacing - both looks good. The vest is fitted along the waistline. The black contrast on the edges stretch the vest and let the wearer appear slimmer and longer. When combined with a skirt and some more details, this vest will add some eye-catcher to the tavern maids, adventurers or market-womans costume or can be a good basis for down-to-earth dresses. Initially the skirt was a piece of clothing for both: men and women alike. It was made with sleeves and was worn as everyday clothing in all social classes. Only later the skirt developed into the shape we know it as today. The ankle long skirt "Anna" is built with a wide, comfortable waistband. The lacing on the back can be used to adjust the skirt indivudually to the wearers body. Rough canvas provides the neccessary durability on LARP events and medieval markets. When combined with the blouse and the bodice from the "Anna" series, this costume provides a good basis for a tavern maidens dress.
