Denarius Geldkatze suede
The Geldkatze origins its name in the old german word "Chazza", meaning "vessel, container" or simply "bag". Some still think of the pouch being made from the skin of a cat ("Katze"), but we can not confirm this myth. Our "Denarius" Geldkatze is made from soft suede and uses two massive brass rings to close it with. Traditionally it was worn on the belt - the more valuable half being worn closer to the body. The long slit in the middle is layed on the belt itself to assure not a coin falling out. The "Denarius" Geldkatze is a great way to transport and display valuable gems, coins or other values. Denarius money pouch smooth leather
The German name for money pouches like "Denarius" during the Middle Ages was "Geldkatze", which translates as "Money Cat", a name that may seem strange at first. According to a generally accepted theory, it derives from the Middle High German term "Chazza", meaning container or bag. However, there is another popular theory stating that such money pouches were made of cat skin, a claim we shall neither confirm nor deny here. Our "Denarius" money pouch is made of soft sheepskin and features two solid brass rings used to close it. Traditionally, a money pouch is worn slung over the belt (with the long slit to reach inside it lying on top of the belt). When worn like this, the money pouch forms two separate bags that are additionally secured by the brass rings to prevent coins from falling out. The bag with the more valuable content was always worn closer to the body. During business transactions, money pouches allowed secretly feeling how much money you still had left. (This, incidentally, gave rise to the popular German proverb "Rubbel' die Katz" (Rub your cat), which, in days of yore, was used to tell your business partner to hurry up and get on with the deal. A healing potion will not be of any help hidden in the bottoms of your backpack. Mages' duell and your mana potion lays inside the tent? Some utensils must be at hand quickly to be of any value at all. Being the reason, why we developed the "Doran" series' potions holder. Four small bottles fit the holder, which can be strapped onto your belt. The holder is not to be closed to minimize the time grabbing your wanted potion right away. Doran ring belt
European belt buckles have been dated back to the Roman Empire. Prior to the buckle the roman and germanic people used a ring, made from various materials. This shape of buckle was used until the medieval period. The "Doran" series' ring belt copies this shape of buckle. The belt is made from split leather and grades almost every costume up, as the characteristic medieval knot shows the wearer linked to this period. The belt is tightened by pulling the strap through the ring a little more, than needed and securing it right behind it. The upper end is pulled through the loop then and lead to to the bottom - simple as it sounds: this is it! The knot is tightened and stays in place now. We advice to use leather fat on a regulat basis for the caretaking of split leather. Our "Gold Quality" leather fat will certainly be the best choice.
