Bernardo/Sicuro crossbow stirrup lock

A replacement string fitting for the "Bernardo" & "Sicuro" crossbows from our program (not suitable for the "Bernardo" double & pistol crossbow). To put it on, simply hang it in on one side and carefully pull back both ends of the bow until you can hang in the other loop. With a little practice this can be done on your own, to start with, just ask another person to help. This chainmail shirt is rather small and is intended to be used without a gambeson. The chest circumference is relatively small as well, which is why we recommend it for warriors that are younger and/or of a more slender built with a chest girth of 70cm to 95cm. Since aluminium is softer than steel, every single ring of this chainmail shirt is riveted to give it the necessary stability. The "Bernardo" pistol crossbow is manufactured in a small factory in Italy and impresses with its careful workmanship and reliable release mechanism. The shaft is made of sturdy wood, limbs, stirrup, safety and the trigger are made of burnished steel. The safety pin blocks the trigger and should be secured before cocking to avoid accidental firing. "Bernardo" can be dismantled for transport. To do this, the safety pin on the front has to be removed; the stirrups and limbs can then be removed. The crossbow has a draw strength of about 30 pounds.
