Product information "Berthold sallet"

This helmet shows a high, pointed scull piece with an enlongened neck protection. The part on the forehead is riveted to the helmet and provides an additional protection to the wearer.
The scull part is made with a spine.
The visor can be moved upwards to allow a better breathing for the wearer in between battle moments.

The helmet is made with an inner inlay of foam (covered in cotton) and has a chin strap attached.

The sallet is a very common helmet type for the late medieval period and was often worn in combination with gotic armourment. It was used later as well, especially by bandits and sellswords, who scavaged them off the battlefield.

Goetz sallet

The sallet is considered as a development of the iron hat and was the most common helmet of the 15th century in Europe. It was available in various versions: sometimes with no visors, often with flexible necks, but often with stiff neck protection. The salletr "Götz" has a rigid neck protector and a movable visor. A high, pronounced crest adorns the helmet and gives it stability. The front section is additionally reinforced. The helmet is provided with a foam lining and is closed with a sturdy chin strap. Sigismund burgonet

This helmet is built along the historical bouronet from the early 16th century. The head is well protected inside a round scull cap with a high riser in the centre of the spine. The face is covered by the small brim in the front and the two cheek flaps on the sides.
