Product information "Gustav breastplate"

All our products from the "Gustav" series combine simple design and functionality at a great price performance ratio. This series of low cost plate armour gives you the opportunity to arm yourself without spending lots of money. Its design suits many different character concepts and therefore you will be able to use it over and over again for many years. It is also great for medieval fairs and historic events.

The torsoplate is composed of three inflexible pieces. The middle part with its sloping edges and the rivet decoration makes for a nice eye catcher. It is closed crosswisely with two leather straps on the back and is therefore quite variable in its size.

Gold Quality leather grease

Leather is a very versatile material with lots of different properties. Shoes, accessories and armour can last, if maintained propperly, for many years. The "Gold Qualities" leather greases effectiveness is defined by its high percentage of bees wax - this is another reason for it cleaning your leather so good. It penetrates depply into the leather and seals it from dirt and moisture. Rub it gently into the leather by using a soft brush or cloth. After a short residence time the excessive grease is brushed off - appling too much grease will result in a saturation; the superfluent grease can be wiped off. Your leather product will let you know when you apply too much: we suggest to apply less grease, but more often. Not only leather can be taken care off with this grease, we suggest to clean steel armours light rust or polish drinking horns with it. Wooden articles profit from its bees wax ingredients as well. They will be protected effectively and recieve a new shine. Material: vaseline, bone marrow oil, genuine bees wax Colour: natural Volume: 190 ml

John chain mail

This short-sleeved chain mail was built for average sized adults with a "normal" chest circumference. It is wide enough to be worn on top of a padded gambeson.The sleeves cover some 2/3 of the arms - still being considered a short sleeve chain mail - and reaches down to the middle of your thigh.We suggest to wear this chain mail with an average chest circumference from 90cm to 125cm. This way it chan be worn in combination with a padded gambeson and can extend itself to a maximum width of 140cm circumference. A belt can help to distribute the weight properly. The blank version is fully galvanized and does not rust. Oiled and browned chainmails are ungalvanized and are supplied with a high lubrication. Please remove the excess oil before first use. Gustav belt shield

Our belt shields can be painted in groups colours, insignia or heraldry to show the membership to a certain group. Made from 1,2 mm steel, we offer them in our favorite plate armour series now. Matching the "Gustav" series, this shield is not decorated, but meets the series' style with plain and undecorated beauty. It is worn on a belt by using the two loops on the top to hoist it through there. Naturally it can be worn as a tasset, when fastened on the upper thigh. This way you will have an additional plate armour piece. The belt shields, just like our arm shields, cry out to be painted, modded and to be combined with existing clothing. This is, where your creativity and immagination comes into place. Talking of creativity: We suggest to clean the shield with Acetone prior to painting it. Afterwards just sand it with a paper with 600 grid. Use some automobile colour primer as the colour-matching foundation. When the foundation is fully dried, you should sand it again and apply a second layer of colour. Now is the time, where you can paint your details, like heraldry, animals and writings with weatherproof acrylic paint.
